STRATHMORE CHORALE

The Music Club of Strathmore University started as a combined university choir consisting of both university staff and students on 11th January1997. The Music club consists of the Choir , Strathmore Chorale and the Band.

 

Over the years the chorale has made many international tours both in Africa and Europe and performed alongside great bands like Lady Smith Black Mambazo in concert and many others.

 

 

Their repertoire is wide ranging from traditional music to classical and contemporary pieces. The choristers boast of two albums, e polo and Coming Home, a third album is on the way.

 

The choristers have developed a rich repertoire of music that has made them be ranked amongst the best choirs in Kenya.

THE STRATHMORE DEBATE SOCIETY


The Strathmore Debate Society organizes weekly debates on a variety of contemporary political and cultural issues. Please come along to participate in lively discussions, meet interesting people and get some debating experience.

DRAMSOC


 

If you have a passion for acting or performance arts then this is the club for you. We stage plays at Alliance Francaise every year with each play being even better than the last one. The club was founded in 2006 and has been a second family to over 100 students over the years. It has also won the Annual Clubs Awards two years in a row (2009 and 2010). We’ve been home to some of the biggest names in the arts industry such as Maureen Koech (Lies that bind, winner AMVCA supporting actress 2013) , Nickson Walubengo (Angel’s Diary and Lies that Bind) and Bany Bigos (Musician). We aim to ‘edutain ‘(educate and entertain) the society. More so, to have all rounded students who are mentored by their peers. Some of our other activities include CSR activities, Open Mic,  TeamBuilding activities and the climax being the annual Dramsoc Awards to reward the best thespians within the group.

We at SUITSA aim at promoting, improving, and developing interest in computing and information technologies among members of the Strathmore Community.

 

 

Our partnership with big and renowned companies has benefited our members greatly, for instance

  • Oracle scholarships courtesy of Oracle to teach students on SQL, database and Java SE7 Programming. The beneficiaries of these programming will be qualified database administrators by the end of the sessions.
  • We have the Google ambassadors that help organize the various Google events in within and out of the University into to promote technology.
